Our covered pavilion became the perfect Plan B ceremony space, allowing Makenna and Tyler to continue their day without sacrificing the beautiful celebration they had planned.

Makenna’s bridal look was timeless and romantic, from her lace wedding gown and delicate veil to her colorful summer bouquet filled with shades of pink, peach, blue and white.
Her bridesmaids wore soft sage green dresses that looked beautiful against the natural greenery surrounding Kleffner Valley.
Tyler and his groomsmen complemented the softer colors perfectly in classic navy suits.
Together, the entire wedding party looked incredible against the rolling fields and wooded backdrop of our Mid-Missouri property.
A Rainy Wedding Day With a Beautiful Plan B ☔️
Every couple dreams about beautiful weather on their wedding day—but in Missouri, we all know the weather doesn’t always follow the plan!
One of the biggest things we want our couples to have on their wedding day is peace of mind.
When rain arrived for Makenna and Tyler’s wedding, their ceremony was able to move beneath Kleffner Valley’s covered pavilion.
The pavilion provided plenty of room for their guests while still offering the open-air feeling of an outdoor ceremony. The string lights overhead created a beautiful backdrop as Makenna and Tyler officially became Mr. and Mrs. Lord surrounded by family and friends.
And once the rain passed, they were still able to take advantage of the property for their wedding portraits.
It’s a perfect reminder that a little rain doesn’t have to ruin your wedding day—especially when your venue has a backup plan already waiting.
Wedding Photos Throughout the Kleffner Valley Property
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their wedding party headed outside for portraits throughout the property.
And these photos are exactly why we love summer weddings at Kleffner Valley.
The green fields, wooded hillsides, creek area, windmill and open spaces gave their photographer a variety of beautiful backdrops—all without having to leave the venue.
Some of our favorite photographs from the day are the simplest ones: Makenna and Tyler walking hand-in-hand through the field, laughing together, and soaking in those first moments as husband and wife.
As the day continued, the evening light created the perfect setting for even more portraits.
An Elegant Reception Inside the Kleffner Valley Barn
After the ceremony, guests celebrated inside our reception barn.
Makenna and Tyler kept their reception décor simple, romantic and elegant with white linens, soft sage runners, greenery, candles and gold accents.
The greenery and candlelight looked beautiful against the barn’s wood walls, large doors, high ceilings and statement chandeliers.
It’s one of the things we love most about the reception space—the barn has plenty of character on its own while still providing couples with a neutral backdrop they can make completely their own.
